FEED brings together a diverse group of associates spanning private sector, civil society, academic and social entrepreneurs involved in food production, distribution, investment and thought leadership.
FEED’s directors, Kevin Naidoo and Nicola Coundourakis, have worked in the sector for a combined total of almost 20 years in social enterprises, co-operatives, research and social justice work.

Andile
Mnguni
Digital Marketer
Andile Mnguni is a ‘yes-man’ to her purpose which has always led her to leading an innately impactful life. Empowering people to is at the crux of her work as a Social Entrepreneur through education and entrepreneurship. She founded ROAR SA which has transitioned from traditional non-profit to social enterprise and eventually becoming a movement for young people to find their voices and the tools to utilise them for meaningful change in their respective communities. Through her work as a young changemaker, she received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award in 2017 and was among the We Are Family Foundation 2020 Global Teen Leaders. After graduating from the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science, Social Entrepreneurship Programme, she began consulting on how to merge impact and profit for both corporates and non-profit organisations.
Andile’s dynamism has resulted in her wearing various hats in diverse industries, she believes in ‘following the butterflies’ regardless of whether the path is linear or multifaceted. She is also passionate about new age storytelling and has a budding career as a Digital Marketer for niche markets with a focus on young people in food systems and agriculture, she has since been named a 2021/22 Thought For Food Ambassador.
Mnguni is well intentioned to continue speaking up and challenging injustice, to being impactful through her work and in all her spheres of influence and collaborate with others to create a collective power to generate lasting change.

Siyabonga
Ndlangamandla
Agri Specialist
Born and bred in rural KwaZulu Natal, Siyabonga learnt a great deal about farming and looking after livestock on his grandparents’ land. This is where his passion for food security was first sparked and has since established a noteworthy career in the social and creative industry with a focus on advancing the sustainability of the food system particularly for the communities that have experienced the severity of it’s unsustainability.
Siyabonga holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Zululand, an Information Technology diploma from Rosebank College and an Extended Bachelor of Arts degree in Development Studies from the University of Johannesburg. Along with these qualifications, he has taken courses on farming with technology (Hydroponic) which have advanced his work as a farmer, anchoring his farming ventures with innovative technologies in the industry, to advance the community and improve food sustainability by better preparing for the effects of global warming and mitigating various factors that affect the environment and the planet.
Ndlangamandla is based in the Makers Valley area, which is one of the fastest growing economies in the creative enterprise sector and he is a Co-Founder & Board Member at Makers Valley Partnership which is a hub for creative and social entrepreneurs, changemakers and the Makers Valley community at large. Siyabonga believes in enabling a wellbeing economy and in collaboration for the betterment of the world and all the people that live in it.
He is currently working with youth, teaching them the farming expertise he has garnered through all his experience in the industry, and, utilising this program to enable community members to be active participants in acquiring the change they want to see in the community by developing sustainable climate ready gardens.

Nicola
Coundourakis
Co-Founder
Nicola is an experienced social researcher and entrepreneur who values the use of data and systems thinking to drive sustainable and meaningful change. She is focused on addressing some of the world’s most pressing problems through community-centric and co-operative methodologies, integrating innovation with participation.
Nicola’s experience in grassroots organising, activism and stakeholder engagement has led her to co-found FEED, a project that brings together her passions for people and the planet through the lens of food.

Kevin
Naidoo
Co-Founder
Kevin is a highly experienced social entrepreneur whose focus in on setting up and managing enterprises that use business, technology and culture as mechanisms for change.
He has extensive deal structuring experience in the non-profit and commercial sectors. This included time in sectors including financial services (working predominantly with under- and un-serviced communities), software development and technology (particularly in financial services), agribusiness, the food and beverage industry, the creative industries and the social enterprise/non-profit space (particularly with social entrepreneurship and indigenous knowledge); with exposure throughout the African continent.
